L’Office français de la biodiversité (OFB)

The OFB is a public institution belonging to the Ministry of Ecology and Agriculture, and has five main objectives

• Monitoring territories and enforcing environmental regulations
• Improving knowledge of wildlife and habitats
• Providing technical expertise and advisory services
• Granting hunting permits
• Promoting sustainable hunting

It is fully committed to preserving biodiversity in Reunion via:
• Prevention and monitoring conducted by the BNOI and the police
• Studying and researching wildlife (conducted through the cellule technique Océan Indien.)
